It's Not In Vain

Growth is a slow process.
Little by little, and day by day, you're growing; but you never realize it until one day you're looking back on it all.
The same is true with progress.
You work at it little by little, and day by day, and you never realize how far along you've gotten until you're on the other side, looking back on the journey.

Now you're here.
Looking back on the journey.

And then you find yourself stunned.
Amazed by what God has done.
Your eyes fill with tears as you think of all those years you waited and worked and prayed.
All were leading to this day.

Isn't it fantastic to think that God knew this was coming when He wiped away your tired tears.
For all those years, tired of the progress you deemed invisible.
It was here all along.
It turns out, you were wrong.

You were wrong when you said it could never come true.
God was just waiting- still working in you.
If only you knew then that this day was coming.
But then, maybe it's best that you didn't know.

Had you known then, you wouldn't be here.
You wouldn't be thankful for all of the tears.
The reason you're grateful for all that you've gained, is because you remember all of the pain that it took to get you where you are.

And look where you are.

Progress is slow, day by day...
But never lose sight of the path where you stay.

I write everything based off of where I am in life.

Today I reflect on the past few years...
I write often of my theatre adventures, but the truth is that God has used that to help me grow the most.
In 2015, I joined.
In 2016, I began to realize I needed to work hard.
The summer of 2017, I worked harder than I ever have in my life,
And in 2018, here we stand.
The first cast list where my name finds itself beside the leading lady's.

I know it's not a big deal, and it's just a role...
But to me it's a proclamation, a declaration that I did it.
That by God's help, by His wonderful grace...
I did it.

And I want to send this out as an encouragement to anyone who's waiting for hope that they're wrong.
That all their waiting, working, and praying is not in vain.
It's not in vain.
God is a God Who wants to see us live our dreams.
Work hard, pray harder, and never forget that.
Because one day (soon) you'll be standing on the other side, past the finish line, reflecting on the road.
Though it's currently unknown, one day you'll be standing there at last.
Just keep on believing the struggle will pass.
