Drawn to the Light
Have you ever been around a street light after dark?
If you have, you've probably noticed the crazy amount of bugs that always seem to fly so closely to it.
They gather around, as near as they can get, and just seem so mesmerized by the light- as if absolutely nothing else could pull them away.
I've always found that concept intriguing.
The more that I focused on it, the more apparent an analogy became to me.
The Bible tells us that Jesus is the "Light of the World".
I believe that deep inside of all of us is a desire to draw close to the Light.
Whether we realize it or not, light is something that all of us were made to dwell in.
You can always tell when someone is dwelling in that Light because they glow wherever they go.
Much like the moths that gather around a street lamp, they stand out from all of the rest in the darkness.
The Light is captivating.
Once you've been drawn in, you will never want to walk away.
The longer you linger near it, the more you will stand out from all of those around you:
" In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven." -Matthew 5:16
Others can't help but see Jesus through you when you stay focused on Him; and we have no idea how badly someone may need to see that.
There may be some who choose to remain in the darkness, but for every one of those, I am confident that there are at least ten who will be drawn to your light, and in turn, THE Light.
You may never realize how your decision to live in the Light is making a difference in the lives of others until you reach Heaven, but I can promise you that others are taking notice of your light.
How bright is it shining to them?
